It broke the record? From what i've heard, it didnt! :confused:

EDIT: The website on which it said the record had not been broken has now removed that statement.

It broke the southbound record, not overall. The Railway Magazine (who had something to do with the organisation of the trip) issued a press release that was rather economical with the truth.

The record is still held by the APT, 3 hours 52 minutes, and with considerably inferior infrastructure (for example the old Crewe station!)
