Glad to hear the 1723 Plymouth-Leeds is still an XC HST on Fridays. I'm booked on this service this Friday from Tiverton Parkway to Bristol Temple Meads.

I love these trains, so much better than those god damn Voyagers!!

A 390 in lieu of a 221 that isn't currently mentioned:

Saturdays
0850 Euston-Holyhead
1438 Holyhead-Euston

This is the only Virgin North Wales service that isn't a 221 now (and has been for a while) so should probably go on the list. :)

Well tbf it's not really a 390 in lieu of a 221, it's a 390 diagram

What about the last remaining GatEx 460s? Do they operate on fixed services or are they just running as and when?

460's run whenever there isnt a 442 avaliable to operate a GatEx service. If you manage to get one now then its pure luck.

I believe there is one 460 diagram scheduled on Saturdays, but I'm not sure of the details.

* If you are lucky the second 460 may also appear on another diagram in addition to the ones listed above.

* If a 30 minute frequency service is operating on the Gatwick Express on a Saturday due to engineering the above Saturday diagram will not apply.

* Also for the past few weekends, 460s have been present operating on a Sunday service :D

I saw one today on the 12.00 Victoria - Gatwick, was 460 002 I believe, only 460 i saw out today so it seems the diagrams below are correct - any reason why 442's arent being used for that journey at the moment ?

One has a problem and they are short, and Brighton gets the priority as 460s are not good for that...?

The Saturday 460 apparently exists for driver knowledge reasons.

Any weekday 460s are due to a lack of available working 442s. However on Friday Southern managed to supply a full set of 442s with no 460s present!

Does anyone know when this thread will be updated? :|

As soon as people provide up to date info! To the best of my knowledge only XC has changed massively, but I am counting on others to provide clearer data. I posted this thread just because someone needed to be OP, I am not fully responsible for everything myself.

I do not see the need to mention Virgin 390s. It appears that Virgin want to run Pendolinos permanently on the Birmingham to Scotland route.

If we are unable to find up-to-date information, I don't see the point of keeping this thread stickied. Why take up space with an out-of-date thread?

I think that having the additional 390 diagrams in place of 221s is very useful to have. I'd like to see information on where Voyagers have replaced Pendolinos on London-Wolverhampton even more so: I've had a couple of nasty surprises recently where I've found a 221 waiting for me where I expected a 390, most recently yesterday on the 16:49 departure from New Street to Wolverhampton. So the 15:23 London Euston to Wolverhampton is definitely a 221 in place of a 390 at any rate! And before the December timetable change, the 09:50 New Street to Euston was a 221, and therefore the 11:43 return. I don't know whether this is still the case, but the timings suggest that the same unit would end up back at Euston again in time to work the 15:23 to Wolverhampton.

There was a post in another thread a while back that detailed all the 390-vice-221s and 221-vice-390 diagrams for the current timetable, but for some reason the details were removed. :(

I saw a double 221 at Birmingham New Street yesterday, for a service to London Euston. Around 1:30pm - I can't remember the specific service.

OK then - I'll make a list within the next few days. :)

That would be helpful as I would like to know what is 221 vice 390 so on the odd occasion I use Virmin to get to London I can avoid the horrid 390 'experience'
