It may be me being a bit thick here but I cannot get EC website(I only use them for the points you see) to let me pick up my tickets at Stratford International.

Is this a problem with their system today or will a 'London Stratford' selection also let me pick them up there?

You can pick up a Ticket from Any TOD machine for instance if i buy a

London Paddington - Reading Ticket for Tommorow and Select London Paddington as the TOD, i could pick it up from London Kings Cross.

i may be wrong though, so if you select London Stratford I'm sure you can pick it up from Stratford International.

The TOD database is centralised, you can pick up any ticket at any machine enabled for TOD (which Stratford Intl is). The reason you have to select a station is just so that it can verify you're not going to a station without TOD to pick up tickets! (although it can be slightly out of date as proved here; Bedford wasn't on there for a long time after it was enabled for example)

Yeah im well aware I can pick them up at any station, im asking why Stratford international is not on the list with EC - Its just easier to pick em up when I get there.

Because the list is out of date...

Could be but then I thought Id try Southern as their site is normally quite good and now I am being told that Stratford International is not a valid location to start my journey and I must choose Stratford London:-x

And also the journey in picture 2 is amazing in so much that we apparently now have a Metro in London which we are to catch between Stratford London And International.

Also, and this is really good, if by the first picture I cannot use Stratford International as my departure station upon booking because its not a valid location then why is it a valid location on my itinery(sp)? And why did most of the journeys it showed me for the day I wanted to travel have 2 changes and go via faversham rather then the fast round via Ashford? Because that one is at 49 mins past from there itself but it doesnt show on the page. First one Via Ashford is around 1700 or something.

To be fair, the DLR does now link the two Stratford stations.

RedSpottedHanky will give me tickets to/from Stratford Int'l with no issues at all :)

Is RSH any good though? I can only see a benefit of using it for your clubcard points and I dont shop at tesco..

Presumably certain parts of WebTIS are customisable by the individual TOCs. I have experienced slight inconsistencies between, say, East Coast and Southern when routing certain journeys.

There might have been an update patch for WebTIS when Stratford International went live yet technicians working for Southern might have forgotten to implement it.

If you go to the main mixing deck and try entering NLC 7222, it does not come up automatically with the station full name, which indicates to me that the station is not in the list of accepted NLCs for input.

London Midland would translate 7222 into Stratford International with no problem at all.

Have you reported it to Southern?

It's a metro system.

That's a bit poor, considering how long SI's been open.

For some reason despite Stratford International being established for a couple of years ago, few fares are set up from there. The Calais Day trip tickets have to be issued from LONDON TERMINALS even though Stratford International is not a London Terminal.

They also cannot make journeys that require advanced seat reservations there either as that was something else that was overlooked. when setting them up.

Also, bare in mind that tickets from Stratford International do not include the DLR from Stratford Regional as a matter of course. DLR Revenue Protection Staff seem to be having a field day on this stretch at the moment and there are now large posters at Stratford and Stratford International advising that DLR is not included.

Seems similar to the London Overground stations between Dalston Junction and Surrey Quays which haven't been TOD enabled, yet the ELL stations to the north and south of there which were already part of the NR network are enabled.

Quote: "You can pick up a Ticket from Any TOD machine"

So, for example if I bought a Plymouth-St Ives ticket from Red Spotted Hanky and specified Kings Norton as my TOD station, I could pick the ticket up at any one of, say, Kings Norton, Northfield, Birmingham New St, Exeter St Davids, Plymouth or even Manchester Piccadilly?

Thankyou Indigo2. I am amazed.

I have been buying tickets on-line and collecting them from TOD machines for at least 2 years, since machines were installed at Kings Norton station. I never knew that I could collect them from any other station that had the machines. At times it would have been so convenient to collect tickets from another station (for instance when changing trains on a prior journey).

I have used the booking engines of Virgin, London Midland, Cross Country and Southern and looking back through my e-mails, all confirm my nominated ticket collection station but not one says I can collect them elsewhere. What is the big secret? Is any part of the ticket price allocated back to the station where the tickets are collected?

Also, during the booking process all the websites highlight if the TOD station is not the 'from' station on the ticket, and ask you to confirm that's OK. Why, if you can pick up from many stations?

Southern actually now say that you can pick up your ticket from any TOD-enabled machine. LM doesn't AFAIK. Well done, Southern.

Presumably Maltese cross is allowed?

Can one now exit Stratford Int directly to the highway?

Extracts from the Manual:

The Manual said:
Tickets displaying the ‘cross-London’ marker † are valid for travel between any two of the following Underground and DLR stations appropriate to the route of the through journey:

Aldgate

Amersham

...

Southwark

Stratford

Stratford International (DLR)

Temple**

...
So yes, you're correct.

Thanks for the responses guys. Wonder how many people get caught trying to use a non-acceptable ticket Stratford Int-St Panc though!

Out of interest does a Stratford-London Terminals ticket say not HS1?

No. All fares Stratford London - London Terminals are route Any Permitted.

All fares Stratford Int SE - London Terminals are route Plus High Speed.

The next time I book on-line (probably next week) I will probably use the London Midland website to collect the tickets at New St, but will pick them up at Kings Norton. I will look more closely at what LM actually says.

Can I apologise to the OP for going slightly off the subject. My query wasn't specifically about Stratford International, but was about TOD machines. And thank you to the OP for starting off the thread, as I have learnt something new that is of real value to me. :D

They must have updated their systems as I managed to book two seat reservations at Stratford International ticket office today.

Yep, then it's a 5 min walk walk through (or alongside, I think) the shopping centre to Stratford Regional station

The easiest option is to walk into Westfield and walk along the lower ground floor which leads directly into the (Westfield) station concourse.

However you can walk alongside the shopping centre outside when it's closed.

There is a little exit to the side of the HSBC Bank on the lower level. This is signposted Stratford International and comes out right opposite the overbridge entrance to Stratford International.
