Is there another station for the DMU to run to?

Not yet and not for a while I suspect (Silver Street bridge adjacent to the MN station is missing) but progress in recent years has been good and steady. I think it was such a shame that this line was allowed to be virtually destroyed but it is slowly returning to life: witness the excellent progress also at Shillingstone and now Midford. I am a member (non-working!) of the S&D which is a bit of an admission for a GWR enthusiast but I've always had a fascination for this line. Great to see it coming back to life!

Living in Cornwall, I too, am a non working Member of the S&DRHT at Midsomer Norton, but I've just become a shareholder in the Company now, also a member of the Shillingstone Project, which has come along leaps and bounds in recent months :D The fascination with the S&D knows no bounds here as well....

I think you may possibly mean 'December 2011'. Unless that DMU does something interesting when it hits 88mph.

I've been looking at Midsomer Norton on Google Earth and I keep losing the S&D trackbed around its junction with the North Somerset Line. Is there an intention to extend north and if so, how far?

Your are correct - the 2012 timetable is being revised due to this arrival being fitter than initially expected, which had put that year in mind. Apologies for oversight - label edited.

Think the section you mention is in Radstock - a supermarket covers the junction area. However, going north from Midsomer is not possible because the immediate bridge at Sliver Street is long gone - the trust is extending south for the foreseeable.

Who knows how it'll grow - these things take time, but hope you can see a great deal has been done from a scratch start over the last 10 years at Midsomer.

With Google maps/street view in mind ive seen how lovely Midsomer station looks :) looks like you've got a challenge ploughing through the trackbed at Chilcompton but nevertheless what a great effort by this fledgling railway!

Being a fledgling rail enthusiast myself its very easy to assume that any new project can wave a magic wand & have some 10 miles of running line, 3/4 stations & a comfortable stock to rely on, 'just like that' (tommy cooper in mind) best of luck with this project :D
