Around 5/6 years ago I was waiting at Halifax for the last Manchester train of the night. Due before it was the last train to Huddersfield (a MerseyRail class 142) and that train was announced (and shown on the PIS board) as calling at "Brighouse, Bradley Junction and Huddersfield". Was there ever a station there? Bradley is a suburb of Huddersfield but I can't find any record of a station there. Can anybody help?

This sounds like something from a "ghost" story, considering the period of time that you quote.

Bradley station, situated between Brighouse and Huddersfield, was opened in 1847 by the Huddersfield and Manchester Railway and was closed in 1950....some 62 years ago.

Indeed. :)

Although the only explanation I can think of is that it was an computer programer having a laugh when it should have said Deighton. This sounds extremely unlikely though. Hmmm...

Trains coming off Bradley Curve do not currently stop at Deighton. I think it's got something to do with the fact Bradley Junction is only 15 mph. If you were to stop at Deighton as well you'd waste too much time and get in the way of TPXs. I, personally, think trains between Huddersfield and Brighouse could stop at Deighton on a Sunday and early morning/late evening. ;)
