    I see EMR are running a two hourly service to Skegness during this set of strikes, as opposed to previous strikes having no service at all. Is there any indication as to whether these will be strengthened at all, surely they can’t run a 3 car 170 and hope for the best as it will be absolute carnage.

    Thanks, I knew one was already at Barrow Hill and for some reason thought it was 922. Given the other five have been stored probably a good chance 902 will go straight to Northern after it’s C6.

    Things have been slightly better since the reduced timetable came in to play. Ironically EMR said the wanted to protect the Skegness route whereas most of the short forms are on this line. EMR were already short on stock as we all know but sending the four 156s for storage seems a strange move...

    Wasn’t there talk of using class 222’s on these services this summer provided they get route clearance as currently only cleared as far as Sleaford IIRC.

    As EMR are going to be short on units and quite possibly are going to have to retain some of the 158s the obvious solution would be to swap the 158s for more 170s, either from Northern, TFW or Scotrail. Take Northern for example, they have 16 170/4s and EMR have 26 158s, you could swap these...
