    Merseyrail Class 777

Staff will include the people who will maintain them and no doubt they are being trained up as the mileage runs increase.

    Standing on a Sunday morning…

This is often a symptom of parts of the economy thinking Sunday is a normal day and the rest thinking it's a day of rest. All of the shops and leisure facilities are open but we still have Sunday timetables... I saw this 20+ years ago when I worked in transport and it generally hasn't been...

    Realistic Scenario for Class 325.

They can also be seen singly or in pairs creeping around Crewe, in and out of Crewe Electric Depot, normally having travelled from Warrington but often returning to London. They sometimes use the surface station avoiding lines, presumably to keep up route knowledge.

Trivia: Rail services duplicated entirely by bus routes

A couple of buses run from Liverpool to Southport and apart from a handful of places they aren't miles apart. I expect there's a few on Merseyside such as Liverpool to New Brighton, to West Kirkby, Ormskirk etc.

Merseyrail security guards broke train passenger's leg twice - Liverpool Echo article 30/04/2021

There is clearly a training issue here... if they had the man up against the wall, how did he then turn around to face them? He should have been restrained in that position and then the two security frogmarch him out or detain him in that position until police arrive. In an ideal world anyway...

Merseyrail security guards broke train passenger's leg twice - Liverpool Echo article 30/04/2021

A small thing that annoys me as well is the fact that "Carlisle Security Services declined to comment"... they are being paid from the public purse and as such the public have a right to know what they think about this and what they're going to do to fix it.

Trivia: Stations/Lines that receive a better service during times of disruption

The recent accident at Kirkby had all the Kirkby trains diverted to Aintree (and a bus from there). This doubled the number of trains between Aintree and Liverpool for a week or so. This seems to be the new 'action' if there is disruption on the Kirkby line at all.

What was 73 964 doing at Warrington on Friday 9th April?

I think that has generally been 66s with barrier vehicles. I always regret not getting more pictures of the handfull of 73s when they were based up here on Merseyrail. I always liked the box profile of them and it was something a bit different.

What was 73 964 doing at Warrington on Friday 9th April?

I saw a 73 heading south through Crewe the other day, presumably the same one. They get used on Network Rail trains up here sometimes. The other week there were two on the inspection train that covered the Merseyrail network in the middle of the night. Not as uncommon as you might think these days.

    Location please...

Yes, the window rubber appears to be hanging from the grab rail too.... probably why it was in the depot

[Trivia] What station is highest from local ground level?

Wallasey Village is above a dual carriageway.

How widespread is contactless payment on UK buses?

Yes, I think it was a LCR commitment so I expect there may have been some assistance in getting the appropriate technology for everyone.

How widespread is contactless payment on UK buses?

According to the Merseytravel contactless page all buses in the Liverpool City Region do and the 329 is definitely in that.

How widespread is contactless payment on UK buses?

All Merseyside bus routes have the ability to pay using contactless but you still get a paper ticket.

Merseyrail: funding for Headbolt Lane and St James stations

Stick a bit of a bus station on it and hey presto... Liverpool North Parkway
