    Bulbs for a Railway bardic lamp?

    I have just gone to maplins store for a battery box for the bardic. They have such a box whih hold 3Xd batteries to power the bardic. The battery box is £1.50 and 4D batteries can be bought at any £1 land store. The box will fit inside the bardic no problem. Have some happy lamping.

    The O8 might have been going for fuel, the loco may have been a demic requiring the service of a fitter down at the shed or maybe going to assist another loco motive. Or the driver was off somewhere to have his snap / toilet facilities.

    The pictures on this reply were very good, but some all before I came on the scene. We did however take a set of points to Dodworth on the first day of the Miners strike. After that all coal by rail was banned by ASLEF and NUR for the duration of the strike.
