My heart always used to sink if I arrived at Leicester station on my way home from work and the barriers were open. It usually meant there were delays and the gate staff were down on the platforms trying to manage the chaos.

I made a booking back on 29th September for travel on Monday 16th December and I see that is for coach E (1st class). What type of train it is and whether my seat exists remains to be seen.

Certainly not the case for EMR when it is a simple claim. Submitted a claim on website at 13:04 on Friday (for a 15 minute delay on Thursday) and got a message at 13:06 to say they had paid my £1.08 to PayPal. This was for season ticket on smartcard.

..and very nice they were too.
