Rather amused this morning to see the 0946 Avonmouth to Weston-super-Mare was partially cancelled after Bristol TM due to "Due to the planned train being replaced with a slower train (MS)."
Given this train then proceeds after Bristol to call at every all stations to WSM including Bedminster...
Just checking the TfL status and the Picc is part suspended between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge due to "difficult track conditions", yet the Met is quite happily going along the very same stretch of track.
This is nothing new I appreciate ... I guessed what the reason was when I saw it.

Due to engineering work in the Northampton area, many trains have been removed from the timetable today (Sun 10 Sep 23) - no LNWR services out of Euston to the West Midlands / TV Line before 1pm. As a result, southbound services were also affected and very overcrowded.
On the 1427 Rugby -...
Rugby bay Platform 3 is only used for 1 or 2 trains a day ... now I seem to recall that USED to be Platform 7 before the station was remodeled (Platform 8 being at the Eastern End of Platform 1 once you got past the substation)
Was supposed to be on the 0900 Paddington - Weston-super-Mare yesterday, arrived to find it had been cancelled. Advised to catch the train to Penzance and change at Taunton... except it was only going as far as Exeter SD as there was no TM to go into Cornwall. No hot drinks avaiable and only...
Rugby is right to left (1 & 2 being down - 4/5/6 are up)
Hemel Hempstead is also right to left (Platform 1 which is Fast Down is furthest from the barriers)
Leeds is absolute carnage this afternoon. Passengers are getting on trains only for them to be cancelled at or slightly after the departure time. Happened twice so far... Nothing leaving to Kings Cross until at least 4pm 5.15pm..
What a total shambles for LNWR today…
Trying to get to Rugby today.
The 0924 Euston to Birmingham cancelled
The next train past Northampton was supposed to the 1001.. also cancelled.
Advice was to get the 0955 train to Northampton (which was standing to sardine level) and wait 50 minutes...
Currently on an Avanti up from MKC that left at 2250. Crushed into the vestibules but at least on the way home. MKC showing only one more Euston departure tonight
Whilst the RMT may not care (and almost certainly don't) about "The Man on the Clapham Omnibus" - feelings do run high and this could lead to more anti-social behaviour against rail staff when they need it the least. There were unpleasant scenes in the capital with the Tube Strike and it is...
Avanti took their service to a new low today.
RTT showing 31 services cancelled… including both of the ones I was due to be on..
My return journey was just dreadful.. supposed to have been on the 1600 ex Rugby to Euston (canx)… the 1641 was a 10 car Voyager (2x5), full to the point people...
