    Northern complimentary tickets

I will have a look to see if I have the claim info still to hand, and if so, give them a ring, thank you.

    Northern complimentary tickets

I had a claim that should have resulted in two comps being issued, but only received one. A follow-up by email was ignored and I gave up. I wonder if someone in the relevant department is selling them on.

Permitted Route Question - Lincoln to Leicester

Thank you. Was just on Fast JP and found nothing in the Melton to Loughborough direction. Then looked in the other direction and found the early service, but of course no way to get from Lincoln for that time!

Permitted Route Question - Lincoln to Leicester

Thank you - had seen the "Limited EMR Intercity services" notation on the pdf map, but have not looked at any journey planner.

Permitted Route Question - Lincoln to Leicester

Great stuff, thanks for your response. Not quite the desired route but nice to get a bit more value out of the ticket than the same route there and back.

Permitted Route Question - Lincoln to Leicester

Thank you both for your comments, very informative. As a variation would this be permissible? Outward - Lincoln, Nottingham, Derby, Loughborough, Leicester. Return - Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham, Lincoln. I suspect "yes".

Permitted Route Question - Lincoln to Leicester

Thanks for your response. 1668543242 I hadn't yet considered this, wanted to get a yay or nay on the route before planning the journey. Looking at the EMR route map, pdf from their website, I see that there are "Limited EMR Regional Services" between Melton Mowbray and Sileby - perhaps that...

Permitted Route Question - Lincoln to Leicester

I have consulted the routeing guide and think I have understood things correctly, but wanted a routeing expert, or two, from the forum to confirm so that I don't get any surprises on my journey. Ticket is an Off Peak Day Return at £18. Both Lincoln and Leicester are routeing points or members...

Free (or swap) etickets Northern Rail, tomorrow 7th September, good for walkers.

Thanks for letting me know. For the £5 it's costing me would be nicer for somebody to have a day out, but certainly the eVoucher is an option, thanks again.

Free (or swap) etickets Northern Rail, tomorrow 7th September, good for walkers.

Unfortunately it is not possible for me to use some tickets. Happy to give them away or swap for a Northern Family and Friends voucher if anybody has one. Please DM or reply to the thread and I will email them. If you only want particular legs no problem, I can give somebody else the others...

Cumbrian Coast - day out suggestions

Last year I did a did a circular walk starting from Green Road taking in Swinside Stone Circle then onto Black Combe and down to get the train at Silecroft, lots of varying scenery and a section at the start along some charming, almost green, walled lanes. Map and compass recommended!

    The Horror of Pacers

Travelled Lincoln Sheffield return on Sunday, both 142 class. Outbound seats were slightly bucketed with low backs for good views out. Return again low back seats but the classic bus style with the polished metal rail at the top of the seat back. Not only the benefit of good views out, but...

    Famous people on trains

Didn't know that. Had been on a circuit up from Edale following the Pennine Way to Jacobs Ladder then anticlockwise around the tops to Mam Tor, Hopkins Cross then down. Very packed with people on the first section towards Kinder Scout - maybe the celebrity effect of Jarvis - certainly more...
