    GN Class 717

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there any announced plan for re timetabling the route, now the 717s are settling in? Or does major change have to wait for moorgate resignalling?

These seem to be running really well now, in my experience at least. An absolutely enormous improvement

    High speed sleeper trains

I would love this to be possible, London to Rome or Madrid overnight would be fantastic. But aside from all the operational issues already mentioned, price would have to come down a lot. 300 odd quid for a train vs 70 for a plane just wont work. Maybe if the passenger density could be increased...

    Caledonian Sleeper

Apparently not restocked over new year, much of what they had left was beyond use by date...

Well this is just a shambles isnt it. On the train from Inverness, in club rooms. Had to move rooms because water leaking through roof, now finally able to get at seat in the club lounge... And they've run out of food. Nothing left. An absolute **** show. Will i be able to get compensation...

    Learning Traction

Is there a limit to how many types of traction a driver can sign for at any one time? I think in aviation, commercial pilots are not allowed to be current on more than one type at a time, but obviously there's quite a practical difference between aviation and rail transport.

    Railway Pubs

Chaps, and suggestions for a pub by Inverness Station this evening? Probably have an hour or so to kill before getting the sleeper back home.

    Caledonian Sleeper

Cheers for that. I'm a massive fan of travelling on sleepers, but I've never travelled on one in the UK, so im really looking forward to it. For those that know, anything much in the way of facilities at Inverness Station, in case of delays?

    Caledonian Sleeper

Well reading this has certainly dampened my excitement about using this from Inverness to London in Jan. I even persuaded the mrs that it would be much more fun than flying... 'hotel on wheels' may even have been mentioned. How much trouble am i gonna be in??!

    Available if Unoccupied

Well don't you seem nice:s If these little 'victories' get you through the day, then good for you chief.

    Available if Unoccupied

You know you haven't reserved that seat, they have reserved that seat. If the sign above the seat is in error, and that passanger has their reservation to show you, you should give up the seat. Granted the TOCs signing is rubbish, but take that out on them not the poor bugger whos seat youvr...

    Available if Unoccupied

Yeah thanks for clarifying.. That's was my take on things too

    Available if Unoccupied

What you're saying ia fair enough, if the reservations have been cancelled. But if it is an error on the screens, it's out of line

Wow. 'just a piece of paper'. If you have problems with the concept of things proven because they are in writing, you are going to have some pretty nasty surprises in life. What it costs isnt really relevant, your taking advantage of a situation, that's no fault of this third party, and dont...
