Calling all software developers / programmers on this forum

Not sure how I've managed to miss this thread previously! I'm nudging up towards a quarter-century in software engineering. I've had a variety of roles from developer, tech lead, architect, site reliability engineer to my current role which is product manager for two large (computer)...

Advance Single - Ticket from Manchester to Edinburgh Waverley can I get off at Haymarket?

Shouldn’t be a problem — I do this regularly. Ticket usually works the barriers.

Quite! Preaching to the choir, there :)

Password storing apps such as Keeper

If you have to ask "Do I need this?" when it comes to information security, the answer is almost certainly "Yes". Any major vendor will be audited to ensure that they're doing what they say they are in respect of security (in particular look out for ones which offer enterprise pricing). For all...

    Transpennine woes and a moan...

I received delay repay for my advance ticket on the cancelled 0616 Haymarket to Manchester Airport on 19 Nov. I did have to submit a claim for it -- the return journey on the 24th was automatically refunded after terminating short at Carlisle.

    Edinburgh-Dundee day return

My travelling companion is born and bred in Kirkcaldy. I'm not entirely certain they share that opinion! Thanks, we ended up on the HST on the way out, and one of the stoppers on the way back. Or, so I'm told...had more pints than strictly sensible Thanks all for the incredibly comprehensive...

    Edinburgh-Dundee day return

Thanks for the responses -- I'll definitely look into the splits. Obviously my memory was faulty about the CDR.

    Edinburgh-Dundee day return

Hi, Planning a day trip on Saturday 3/9 from Edinburgh to Dundee for a friend’s birthday. The only return fares available appear to be period ones, but I’m certain I’ve travelled on a cheap day return in the past for much less than the £30.70 quoted on NRE. Am I completely misremembering or...

    Caledonian Sleeper

I should probably hasten to add these weren't sleeper tickets for tonight, but for my return on LNER later this week. I'll try again later this week when I'm less tired, grumpy and tipsy.

    Caledonian Sleeper

Thanks! As is often the case, while commenting on such matters things start to move. Slightly cross because the usually helpful LNER desk at Waverley was unable to tell me how to collect TOD tickets when computer says no. All they could say was I had the wrong reference, but were...

    Caledonian Sleeper

Any news on tonight’s southbound lowlander? Doesn’t look like the stock for either the Glasgow portion or the Edinburgh portion has left Polmadie yet according to RTT. Booked Edinburgh to Euston, and just wondering if it’s worthwhile leaving home to loiter in the lounge.

    Caledonian Sleeper

Eagerly awaiting it at Waverley, It’s definitely past my bedtime. And the supplies of M&S Mojitos are running low.

    Caledonian Sleeper discussion

I have a Flexipass booking for the 28th of October Edinburgh to Euston. They seem to cover the “Club” rooms which I think are the en-suite ones. Consider me slightly disappointed at the recent turn of events.

Weather related disruption, 19/09 (Storm Ali)

Thanks for that. It does appear that we are continuing to Edinburgh, though. There was an announcement after Peterborough that we are being hauled by a diesel loco....which also explains the glacial acceleration out of King’s x. If we’re not, someone ought to tell the train manager!
