Thanks. Yes starting in Abergavenny. I wondered if there was one ticket allowing a break of journey at Haywards Heath for 1 or 2 nights. The extrasingle is not much extra though.

Looking for advice on this journey with an overnight break in Haywards Heath on the outward leg. Out Sat 16 March, rtn Tuesday 19th. Ideally via London as the direct trains Newport to south coast get a bad rep on here! Thanks.

I only bought a Frome ticket as the price was the same as to Westbury, giving me the option of ending or starting my return at either. At the moment I think tfw are best avoided.

I agree that something amiss is happening. I did add my actual journey but as the delay claim itinerary was longer I arrived at the time their journey said I would.

For a journey at 1702 Abergavenny to Frome on Friday 31/3/23 the tfw planner suggested 1702-2001. The delay claim site gives a journey 1702-2049 with a 1h23min wait at Bristol Parkway. I was delayed as the 1702 arrived in Newport 20 minutes or so late, missing the 1741 connection to Westbury...

For travel out am and return early pm on Thursday 9 March. Is there any way of knowing which services will be double voyages and so likely to be less crowded.

I've had this before so booked 1 at the lower price, then made another booking at the slightly higher price for the 2nd ticket. The only issue was if there are seat reservations which may not be next to each other.

What about buying a Piccadilly to Oxford Road single, and either making use of it to travel back on yourself (a longer journey time) or just to exit Oxford Road?

I was looking at a journey Abergavenny to Oxford on 7th and return on 9th. I know there will be disruption but the GWR website says the strikes days are 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. Is this an attempt to reduce travellers as the 6th & 7th aren't strike days.

And why it was the cheapest of the lot to park and stay overnight on the return. I did prefer the park and take your keys / go to your room set up, rather than a shuttle bus which don't run 24 hours or an out of hours fee. Of course we should go by train next time!!

The boundary must be somewhere between Heathrow T5 and Hilton T5 as several cabs wouldn't take us after arriving late on a delayed flight. Eventually one did and said a price before we set off. Apparently they can decline/refuse journeys that go outside their license zone. Anyway it's a poor...
