    Northern Class 331: Initial diagrams

2H42 Crewe - Manchester Pic via Stockport was a 331 this morning. Feedback from other half who boarded at Cheadle Hulme "nice to have air con (stops windows steaming up), but had to stand because no seats available - possibly too many tables in the carriages?"

    Northern Unit Refurbishments

The new moquette is a huge improvement on the earlier cloth. Much brighter and far less grubby looking.

    Northern Unit Refurbishments

Slightly O/T - I've noticed more stickers being applied to the Northern 323s (none of which are refurbished yet). 'Teeth' stickers on inside and outside of doors, 'Mind the gap' on inside and outside of doors (the one inside is hidden when the door is open, somewhat limiting its effectiveness)...

    Good liveries

I think the new "Northern Electrics" livery on the 319s is a big improvement on the regular Northern livery: I also like the Fastline Freight livery (including the variations between loco types):

    Arriva Trains 158 Query

Two low loaders, each carrying half an ATW 158 were parked up in this layby on the Eastbound side of the A55, just outside Chester when I passed by at 5:00PM yesterday.

    Middle lane driving: your views?

I agree with the 56mph speed limiters, for the reasons transmanche gives. But today, different companies limit their HGVs and vans to different speeds... Sainsbury's has chosen 52mph (to reduce emissions), other companies use 56mph, I've seen some now with stickers proclaiming a vehicle is...
