What has happened this weekend? I noticed NRE put an alert out at 5am advising disruption to the long distance services of due to staff shortage.. GWR say its crew issues and late notice of works.

They've smartened up the leaflets at least. The x10/x30 are quite nice to look at wirh a smart livery.. but its standard First for the most part. Its really crying out for someone to give the presentation a kick up the backside, something you could say for a few other First operations to be fair.
The network is quite extensive, it just needs to be presented better in my opinion. Maybe they could take some tips from up the A12 at Eastern Counties with the good work being done at Norwich.

On trains, so long as its a window seat with no table then I am happy.
However, I am one of the wierdos that prefer the window seats at the very back of the DLR and Tyne and Wear Metro, rather than the very front.

Not sure what is available now on the bus market, but something like the old Stagecoach Fife tri-axle Omnilinks would be a good halfway house for some coach operated routes. They do feel like a coach and are low floor.
No way in hell Stagecoach Bluebird will put normal buses on the 10. A lot of money has been spent and It would scare off a lot of long distance passengers at a time when HST stock is coming very soon to the Aberdeen to Inverness rail line - so they need to keep as many passengers as possible...
