In the May 1987 timetable there was a 1V16 16:42 Waterloo - Exeter St. David's which was booked for a 50 and went ECS to Laira, presumably formed of the stock off the 12:20 Exeter St. David's to Waterloo.
I think it was mentioned earlier on in the thread about 50's hauling TC stock, in the May...
In the May 1987 timetable, the 12:03 (1V12) from Portsmouth Harbour went to Paignton and the train to Portsmouth Harbour (1O38) started from Exeter St. David's at 11:05. The loco that worked the morning Portsmouth in May 1987 was booked to work 1V01 01:40 Waterloo - Yeovil Junction, 2O91 05:15...
West Dulwich to North Dulwich changing at Herne Hill and Tulse Hill. I did actually use this route in the past but was heading to London Bridge rather than North Dulwich.
A few more South London Pub Terminating Points for Buses:
Brixton George Canning (Jn of Effra Road and Brixton Water Lane)
Camberwell Road Nags Head
West Norwood Thurlow Arms.
Indeed, just over 33 years ago during the first week of the May 1990 timetable I was sent out to chack on the timings for the newly electrified lines between Portsmouth,
Southampton and Eastleigh to see how they were. My instructions were to remain inconspicuous, so that there was no influence...
There was a booklet published by Capitol Transport published in 1978 called 'Odd Men Out' which detailed odd bus workings on London Transport, with reference to the 53 and NX DM's it quotes: Gradual conversion from RM to MD took place during January 1977 and after the introduction of DMs to NX...
Some of the HAP's off the South Western Division ended their days on the South Eastern Division. Some were formed into 4-CAP's. They lasted pretty much to end of slam-door workings on the South Eastern. I used to get the 06:09 from West Dulwich to London Victoria in the mid-90's on my way to...
I think you're referring to 25/01/1990. I managed to get pretty much the last train home from Victoria to West Dulwich before everything closed down. I had been at Eltham Station earlier and remember it being pretty wild there.
Cambus was originally part of Eastern Counties. Eastern Counties still served Peterborough with the 794 using VRs in the late 80s. I can't remember if any other Eastern Counties routes served Peterborough; I was more familiar with the Norwich area.
The image attached below shows Eastern...
A query for the OP, are you referring to the June 1981 timetable with the above trains?
I'm asking as I've got the Section CL WTT for May 1980 and the trains in the timetable are:
7E13 06:45 Severn Tunnel Jn to Tinsley with the same routing as saltleyman quoted
&
8E16 09:30 Bescot...
The only time I can remember a train skipping stops when I lived in West Dulwich, was one that was fast to Sydenham Hill, then Bromley South. It was only a little further to walk.
There was a 1D17 13:00 Llandudno - Nottingham (arr 17:28) in the May 1980 timetable and a 1D17 12:33 Llandudno - Nottingham (arr 16:36) in the May 1982 timetable. Obviously slightly outside the 1970's.
