First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

It would certainly tie in with the arrivals over the past 6-8 months in Bath not getting any paint, just some Bath City vinyls slapped on them. I should have guessed there was going to be another new livery for when the electric fleet starts arriving en masse.

I think the newer vehicle amongst the open tops in Bath during the late era of First running the open tops was Olympian 9650 (later 39920, L650SEU). There was a truly ghastly Barbie livery variant with lurid green accents around between the decks and some lettering that was very much of it's...

    West Country Independents

This variation in information provision has always been the case. Over in our area to the west, for every Abus, Somerbus or Citistar who were proud to produce their own leaflets and get them in front of passengers, there have always been other operators happy to just do the bare minimum on local...

I don't have the exact details to hand, but i believe that the 56 continues as it is at present, and has been bundled with the 80 (Wed) and 55 (Thu) to give a five day contract running Tue-Sat (perhaps also having a school service on Mondays).

A few changes coming up in the Wiltshire area during April (perhaps BSIP funded): Starting with Faresaver: A Sunday & Bank Holiday service is introduced on X34 (Chippenham - Trowbridge section) from 15th April. 270 (Devizes) is renumbered 3A and 3C. There are several timing changes to the...

Westlink - Demand Responsive Transport (West of England Combined Authority)

That's a shame. The one Westlink journey i've done (and purely for bloodymindedness) was from Chewton Mendip (Somerset) to Axbridge (ditto). Axbridge will now be off the map as the 126 has been bankrolled through to Weston. Unfortunately this revision does nothing to address one of the other...

    West Country Independents

I think the 76/77 change is somewhat wide of the mark as it interworks so much with other services (notably the 87 group). Libra do the shopping runs and i don't believe these are due to change. There are other changes in Wiltshire over the next few weeks, the most notable of which is probably...

Westlink - Demand Responsive Transport (West of England Combined Authority)

One would assume there are further registrations coming for Somer Valley, Chew Valley and other parts of North Somerset? Unless these are being amended to from the original registrations, but that seems a cumbersome way of doing it. Either way, it does seem to represent a significant need for...

Westlink - Demand Responsive Transport (West of England Combined Authority)

Well, we learn something new every day. Having spent my whole life around these parts, i've never heard that description used before!

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

Except it won't be a half hourly service along the main road on the upcoming timetables. 376 and 77 run within ten minutes of each other towards Wells (some within a couple of minutes) and 20/40 gaps heading towards Street. The Somerset Bus Advisory Panel meeting suggested average passenger...

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

It was suggested on the Somerset Bus Advisory Panel meeting that Windmill Hill was very much living on borrowed time as a section of route unless it starts generating some seriously improved patronage. From the numbers that First suggested, it's hard to justify an argument for anything more than...

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

What a hideous mistake. I'm sure Cornish passengers will look forward to features such as three buses within six minutes with a twenty minute gap either side.

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

Given how much money the Combined Authority and it's constituent members are wasting on the 10/11/12/13 services, there ought to be some way of getting an Avonmouth - Cribbs link out of them.

First West of England (Bristol, Bath & The West)

This looks to be the effect of trying to get every bus synchronised to provide the correct arrival time at Strode College. The gaps in the Bath - Midsomer Norton services and the Keynsham - Bristol services are equally ludicrous.
