    SWT Conductor Assessment

The pack you recieved is a standard one and not company specific hence the mention of conductors and not Guards. Some companies have a role play as part of the recruitment, SWT don't. Which depot did you apply for?

    SWT Conductor Assessment

There should not be any role play or interviews involved in the assessment process. You're interview will be scheduled for a separate date.

    SWT Commerical Guard

A commercial guard will sell tickets aswell as the safety critical part of the role such as operating the doors. From what I remember a Farnham Guard would sign 444/450, 455/456 and 458 traction. As for routes, Waterloo to Alton, Woking and Reading.

Can't say what the training will involve but your travel will be covered. You'll get a letter which will act as your ticket for the first day and then issued with a temporary travel pass.

Just a few pointers for someone who has been there and done it. If it says be there for 09:00, be there for 09:00! Actually, be there for 08:55! The hour is used to collect and copy all of the documents you are asked to take. Make sure you have everything on the list... Dress smart, shirt...

    Another steam breakdown

They were carried down on a SWT service. A connecting rod became unattached but took the 3rd rail with it. Think 40 or so pots were damaged. The rod was removed and the train ran light steam to Basingstoke with help from the 47 on the back.
