I bought the route today, with some misgivings. I think Rivet have done a pretty respectable job...the negativity before release is definitely overblown. I'd say a solid 7 out of 10, with some improvements required. The Forth Bridge and surrounding scenery is truly excellent. One of the biggest...
There's been a huge fallout from the Fife Circle route. I don't discuss this on the TSW forums because they can be deeply chaotic and unpleasant. I know Rivet have a poor reputation for route building, but apparently the 170 is well-modelled...?
The 158 is, I think, the version that Skyhook created for MML. That's been very well-modelled, both sounds and physics, so shouldn't have any bother with that.
Yes, I agree. Although I'm not sure if Rivet have modelled the other Forth crossings, which would be a real shame.
They don't have a good reputation for engine sounds, so I hope this 170 is a break from the past!
The February roadmap is looking promising, with the GOBLIN and Fife Circle lines on the way. Apparently a 170 is in the works too.
I notice a UK loco has been teased for release later this year...would it be too much to ask for a 91 for the ECML route?
Moving this discussion forward...am I right in thinking EMR delayed their introduction into service until late this year? Presumably testing in electric mode needs several months at least...
The 225 Group are reporting that there are planned changes to diagrams after December:

A reduction in diagrams weekdays and Saturdays, with a small increase on Sundays.
Are these diagrams likely to survive until the...
Modern Railways reports that surplus Class 68s could be deployed on Nottingham to Cardiff services. It's a shame this route has never been properly regarded as 'InterCity style' by XC. It feels more like a second-rate regional service given it is operated by 170s.
Is this likely to happen...or...
Sorry if this has been asked before...but are they planned to operate at 125mph in service. I assume neither the 805 or 807s tilt, so would that limit them to 110mph?
It is certainly affecting LNER services this morning. Quite a few cancellations and/or amendments both north and southbound. Is this likely to continue throughout the day?
Yes, I agree...although a 91 might follow in the near future. I played it for the first time last night and was quite impressed. There are numerous bugs which haven't been fixed yet, so I hope they are sorted soon.
There is a free roam mode I'd like to get to grips with...Pboro and Doncaster...
I agree with the previous posts about Voyagers. Unquestionably, the worst rolling stock ever constructed for a UK rail operator.
To move things on, I won't miss the Class 185s. Dull to look at, uninspiring to ride and hideously cramped when running as a 3 car unit across the Hope Valley at...
