Off Peak Day Returns on Snow Hill Lines

Whilst obtaining a 'Great Escape' ticket last Friday at Shirley I saw a sign in the booking office window advising restrictions on the use of off peak returns through Snow Hill and Moor St (perhaps others) during peak evening hours.(It did give times but am unsure of exactly what they where. Now...

    London to Cambridge

A hypothetical one. If I have a season ticket from London to Stevenage and I buy a return from Stevenage to Cambridge beforehand, would this allow me to travel from Liverpool Street to Cambridge? Intuition and common sense would be 'no way jose' but...

West Midlands Super off peak day return

Thanks for that, here is the back story. Pitched up at Shirley station ~1831 and asked for an evening return to Coventry.( A new clerk, never seen her there before) sold me the ticket and told me that the earliest train I could catch would be the 1839 even though the 1818 was running late. I...

These tickets are £2 for any return within West Midlands zones 1 - 5, valid after 1830. Would this ticket be valid outbound, on a train timetabled to depart before 1830, but, due to late running, actually departing after 1830? It would be a London Midland service, the only info I have gleaned...

    Shirley to Crewe

Thanks. One final question. Would Shirley to Chester via Crewe be valid via Rugely TV rather than via Wolverhampton?

    Shirley to Crewe

Thanks for that. I was aware such anamolies existed, but not aware how prevalent they were. Nice to benefit from our ridiculously complicated fares structure.

    Shirley to Crewe

Taking advantage of the London Midland 50% off peak discount this Saturday, Shirley to Crewe, gives me a price of £11-05. Yet, Shirley to Chester, via Crewe is £8-55... further but cheaper. I'm not complaining but would love to know the reasons why. Any thoughts ?

Birmingham New Street to Birmingham Snow Hill.Without reversing.

A poster at Moor St. says they are installing a 'new' junction at Bearley. I assumed this was 'new' as in 'brand new' rather than 'new' as replacing something existing

Birmingham New Street to Birmingham Snow Hill.Without reversing.

Will the new junction they are installing at Bearley reduce the milage for the New St. to Snow Hill question

Are Merseyrail stations exempt from smoking ban?.

Quite. Whatever a magistrate deems 'near' to mean perhaps?
