Indeed. Only three Eclipses tho and the branded ones don't cover the current Covid PVR as it is. At peak times they still will need more capacity. I've been on one of a Friday and it's been heaving! Might be able to provide deckers in the morning and evening and then singles through the day.
Former Red Express B7TL's now on the withdrawn list by the looks. Will be interesting to see what happens with this route.
A former Coastliner B9 which had been at Rosso for a while is now at Harrogate and is up for sale apparently.
Latest talk shop TV is out.
Biggest thing to note from a Lancs/GM point of view is they are looking to move the Rochdale operations to another site (in Rochdale) as doing up the current yard is to expensive.
Indeed they are but there are three branded singles and the PVR is six I believe or at least it was before the timetable change and COVID.
Hotline is interesting. I assumed earlier this year they would get Witch Way cast offs but everyone seems to think they are going to about six different places!
Spotted one of the former Red 4 vehicles on the Red Express this morning. Interestingly they've branded it all up. Paint is the same but now has Red Express down the side along with other bits all around including fast into the big city on the back.
I think you're right about the 152. AH has said they have plans for the route so former Witches would make sense after a refurb etc.
As for the RedEx if the funding deal allows them to plan ahead far enough I think cascades are possible. If anything just to stop breakdowns and constant repairs...
I don't suppose anyone has any idea what's going to happen to the Red Express/Red4 fleets?
Not sure if the B7RLE's are leased or not and I assume they'll get rid of the deckers as they are old and tired.
Stagecoach boosts UK economy with record £100M orders for new buses and coaches
03 Mar 2014
• Orders for regional bus operations top £545million in last seven years, plus £100million in London since 2010
• Communities in Scotland, England and Wales to benefit from latest orders
I've not used the smaller evening routes for some years but when I use the 81a/b I was often the only person on the bus between Caton and Lancaster. I can't imagine SC would run such a service commercially as their profit thresholds are quite high if I remember correctly.
New MD at ME seems...
