I just saw your post from 2013 re: Astley Bridge Junction.
With regards to Halliwell Goods Yard, I used to live a 200 yards away from the yard and remember seeing it (sadly) being demolished. The Goods Yard was actually at the end of Blackbank Street as the road turns right. On the map the nearest place now is TotalFitness gym.
If you have any photo's or links, I'd appreciate them. As a 9 year old I didn't really have the ability to take photo's etc.
