You may not remember me, but having retired as M.D. of Thermit Welding GB ltd, I am assisting Brian Counter (Technical Director P.W.I.) with preparing a PWI handbook entitled "Understanding Rail and Rail Welding". and I am in the later stage of the section on Rail manufacture, helped by Jay and Howard Smith. As the chapter is very much linked to BS working practice, I have been reading your excellent articles and hope I can get your OK to include a couple of your images. If you have the time would you be prepared to check the draft to make sure it represents current production? - can't offer much by way of incentive other than we will squeeze some acknowledgments into the book. We are trying to have the completed book ready for release in March (!!!!) so I 'm afraid time is tight!
