    Flixbus Discussion

I think the only reason Flixbus is around in the UK at this moment is to give Megabus competition and satisfy any interference on the sale of Stagecoach. Once things settle down I think we will see Flixbus vanish or change operations.

Bo'ness community bus route C19 withdrawal

Citylink M8 Glasgow to Dundee was an hourly service cut back to two hourly, replaced by short M8 workings to Stirling. The 909 service then replaced the short working service by extending to Glasgow via Cumbernauld and Stirling giving a through service. It was more done for driver reliefs more...

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

Lothian changed the recorded commentary a few years back and in my mind simplified it taking out much of the interesting information. They also got rid of much of the filler tracks as well which got used in traffic and diversions. BBT wins in my view with this.

    Clyde Fastlink

It's been a total waste of time since day one along its entire stretch. At major junctions cars had priority over the bus lanes and would hold you for a few minutes before lights would go green. I found when I was tight for time it was quicker sticking to the main roads especially along side the...

    Scottish Citylink

It would surprise you how many use the Easterhouse and Baillieston stops at peak time. It can regularly be 10 to 20 people per bus.

I had to endure a closure of Union Street once in the past and it was chaos, going from ontime to 30 minutes late in the space of a mile is shocking! Only saving grace was that I was driving the 1 so I was back on time by Holburn Street! The council need there heads tested if they make this a...

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

Both options serve a purpose and do so very well. With Lothian, only the Edinburgh tour and boat tours offer a live guide while the others have recorded commentary. One thing about pre-recorded is that people forget the amount of translations it offers, which is a big attraction in itself. If...

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

The pre recorded commentary is pretty advanced that it has individual tracks to play by the driver which plays in different languages. There is also additional tracks on each subject which can be played to suit heavier traffic. When the service is diverted the driver can select different tracks...

    Contactless Card Blocked By Stagecoach

How they work is when you tap your card, the machine will then connect to the payment server via the Internet connection to clear payment. There is a few things that can go wrong to decline the transaction though, If the area your in has bad phone signal then that can affect the ticket machine...

    Advice regarding bus driver recruitment

Speak to your doctor about alternative medication. If your on cocodomol and taking it regularly you will fail a drug test. Codeine is the one that will show up on the test so you have to be careful

You can do lots of things to sort out buses but the elephant in the room will always be the concession card scheme. Bus companies are not getting full reimbursement for these passengers causing problems with higher fares to compensate or slashing bus services as concession alone cant keep a...

    Go Cornwall Bus

Very few buses have fuel gauges or even if they do very inaccurate. Only way to know what's in the tank is to dip the tank from filler cap.
