    Parking at Tweedbank station

It is obviously busier during the day than in the evening but you should have absolutely no problem finding a space at any time, any day. It was extended (can't remember when) to get more spaces and there's never an issue now. Just the one big car park.

    Berwick Upon Tweed to Newcastle

Thanks for the confirmation she can use any train and thanks for the seat reservation link.

    Berwick Upon Tweed to Newcastle

Ticket type both ways is Off-Peak Single Price paid each way £18.90 = total £37.80 What was bizarre was that selecting specific trains each way worked out more expensive - can't understand that at all.

    Berwick Upon Tweed to Newcastle

I hope I'm not being obtuse but my wife has booked tickets for Saturday 18th May from Berwick Upon Tweed to Newcastle - she was originally going to use Trainline but I told her they charged a booking fee so she has used the LNER app which has given her e-tickets. She found the app quite...

What is the correct fare to charge for tickets bought now for travel on/after 1 April 2024?

Thanks for this - had checked Scotrail for tickets on 16th April and assumed prices had been increased on every booking site.

    New EMUs for CP Portugal

"The platforms won't be 100mm taller than the floor of the rolling stock, but 200mm." 200mm is marginally less than 8" - that's a pretty hefty step for both getting on or off.

Edinburgh to Glasgow - space for suitcases

You're fortunate that you're travelling from Edinburgh to Glasgow (assuming you're getting on at Waverley) as the platform is announced long before the train from Glasgow arrives so you can be right at the far end of the 8 coach train before it arrives. The other direction is a nightmare as at...

    Edinburgh Tram developments

Re 'pensioners' - unless things have changed, the concessionary travel card isn't accepted on the trams.

ScotRail Fares Frozen Until At Least March 2023

Good news. I await the inevitable criticism.

Edinburgh South Sub - feasibility study

I use the Borders Railway very regularly. I am never getting off before Waverley (except for the very rare time I'm going to a concert at MacArts and get the train in from Tweedbank to Galashiels). More often than not, I'm heading onwards to Queen St and, very occasionally to Shotts or...

    Passport

They're not likely to be picky, they will definitely strictly adhere to the rules - it's not Belgium's fault we left the EU. Like the poste above, it took a fortnight when I renewed in March at the height of the huge delays stories. Complete the forms properly and they are quick.

Issue of ToD with Chase Debit Card purchased with Scotrail

I thought tickets purchased via Scotrail permitted you to use any card at the ticket machine to collect the tickets, not necessarily the card you paid with. As an aside, Curve card is accepted for ticket collection if used to pay with.

"Covid rising in England" - let's stop the fear mongering

The number of qualified virologists using a rail forum is quite astounding. Covid cases ARE rising in England and many cases appear to be of yet more variants. I can't see why this is scaremongering when it's factual. More people died through Covid last week in the UK than died in the same week...

Scotrail RMT strike action and possible temporary service cuts to a third of services

My comment related wholly to moving to jobs outwith the industry.

Cancelled Scotrail train, can I use later one to where I'm going but different ultimate destination?

It had nothing to do with the Grant Shapps offer. This was a Transport Scotland initiative.
