All you can do is focus on the here and now, and remain positive that the call will come.
Unfortunately a lot of trainees are still at home, and this will continue for some groups into next year...but a course has recently started and, although a little odd, is at least a good sign for you guys!
There are no depot drivers at Exeter so that is why it wasn’t mentioned.
A new trainee course started last week so have faith progress is being made, albeit slowly.
It’s just after rules that it gets sticky!
Come on Dan that sort of attitude is not going to help your cause.
There are indeed professions out there that will give you some of the skills/experience to assist in the recruitment process.
However if you look at some of the backgrounds of new trainees, it really is from all walks of life...
Hi Lee no not back yet. Still competing a TOC trial and assessing this, as well how many DIs are willing to take a trainee on. May know a bit more in a couple of weeks. If all goes well then the trainees with most handling hours should return September time. What is for sure is that its going to...
Hmm you’ve got a point Stigy. I understand that some with health issues maybe nervous of taking a trainee, but what else can be offered?
If this is true then it could be some time before trainees resume for Scotrail.
I will be happy to get back this year! Am only at Intro to Handling and will literally depend on how many DIs decide to take on a trainee for me to stand a chance.
Again no point getting worked up a bit it, just enjoy the time with family and keep revising so that I don’t forget everything!
