    Edinburgh Tram developments

The airport charge is set by the airport, not the trams. Besides, the best way of getting between the city centre and the airport is the 100 bus (with the exception of during the Higland Show in June). The tram takes such a tedious route round the houses for it to be a true airport service.

National Grid, payment not to use electricity and the cost and risk of generation strategy.

Agile is linked to the day ahead wholesale price, not the "system price" as used on the website quoted above. System price is more of a live price and wouldn't be helpful for Agile as you can't necessarily predict it.

National Grid, payment not to use electricity and the cost and risk of generation strategy.

That is the "system price" you refer to. Not much electricity is traded at that price and no domestic tariffs would be linked to it. The day ahead price, which the majority of electricity not purchased on longer term contracts would be traded at, was still above 0.

How will the increase in electricity costs be dealt with by TOCs and Network Rail?

Aramco's reserves have been recently independently audited by American consultants. Even at the most recent published number - 253 billion barrels of oil and gas, that's equivalent to over 50 years of production at today's rate. Even if it were overstated by 20%, the demand for oil in 2060 is...

How will the increase in electricity costs be dealt with by TOCs and Network Rail?

Sorry, I was refering to the statement about KSA overstating its (I assume) oil reserves. It's the first i've heard of it. Future price rises aren't a given - it depends on demand. If the world is to meet its climate targets, oil demand needs to fall. If low cost producers flood the market (as...

Energy price rises and price cap discussion.

French nuclear availabity has been pretty low for several months now due to reliability issues and an ageing fleet. The lack of cooling water is just another recent problem. I believe French nuclear is operating at somewhere around 50%, which is going to be an issue when it comes to winter. The...

Energy price rises and price cap discussion.

The French day ahead power price is an aveage of EUR500/MWh tomorrow, compared to the UK's at EUR450/MWh. France is having serious issues with its nuclear fleet, so it's not something you want to be too dependent on, though I agree it's useful baseload.

Petrol and diesel prices - how much have you been paying?

Several reasons that weren't really considerations before: -cost of ethanol in fuel - it's now 10% content unless you buy premium unleaded -cost of biofuel content -oil is priced in dollars. $ is currently strong against the £ -not buying Russian crude oil, meaning oil needs to be sourced from...

Scotrail RMT strike action and possible temporary service cuts to a third of services

Did Brexit have a big impact on Scotrail driver staffing? I suspect not. As for "blindly voting" - a lot of that goes on in Scotland. France chose to heavily subsidise its energy prices, so inflation is lower. But ultimately that needs paying for somehow. Different policy choices, so...

Scotrail RMT strike action and possible temporary service cuts to a third of services

Are the "tories" responsible for global oil and gas prices, Russia's invasion of Ukraine or supply chain issues caused by covid lockdowns in Asia? That's quite a stretch.

Octopus - Flexible Tariff - current cost?

It works on a mobile too. If you have an EV, you should consider the Octopus Go Tariff - very cheap overnight rate. The day rate may be higher, but will not take too many kWh to offset it. The flexible tariff will likely increase in October too, whereas Go will be fixed for at least a year...

    Edinburgh Tram developments

The kerb stones at the edge of the cycle lanes have a slight lip. Enough to go flying if on skinny tyres and it's wet if you take it at an angle that isn't 90 degrees. The angle of the kink would certaintly encourage that.

Easing of Coronavirus restrictions in Scotland

They can advise all they like. It's no longer a law so so need to wear them. Many have already ditched them anyway.

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) First Class service

Is there not a reduction in seats on the 9 car Azumas? I believe there are 101 first class seats compared to ~130 on a Mk4 set?
