I know when I driven 95 stock, if one end of my train wasn't getting juice then I'd lose half my lights 30 seconds later. I had it a few times southbound waiting over the points at Morden for the target point to advance into the middle platform when another train was departing Platform 5 to the...
When I was a CSA it was a day if I recall correctly including an exam, but the rovers were never touched on at all if I recall correctly. The training was 4 weeks for CSA2 (2 weeks CSA2 training, 1 week live learning and 1 week ticket machine training) and +1 week for CSA1 (safety critical...
So my experience with this timetable is not great, actually I hate it. Being on the Greenwich branch (Deptford) I find Southeastern trains now pointless because they run just before the Thameslink train towards London Cannon Street at 2tph and it's been like this all week, when going out to Kent...
I liked the idea from the start but I have noticed some benefits for us between Deptford-Westcombe Park since Thameslink started like when SE applies a leaf fall timetable our trains are not cut back to every 30 minutes but 10/20 minutes to London Bridge. I've found the service useful.
Yeah I tried going to New Cross Gate instead of New Cross a few years ago and I couldn't board any London Overground trains towards Dalston in the end had to take Southern, Southeastern to Cannon Street then Circle to Liverpool St and LO to Hackney Downs. Everything is crowded in the peaks...
That's incorrect to just say TL have issues and SE are running normally, 14:32 to Victoria service is 119 minutes late at Chatham, 14:48 is delayed also to Victoria, 14:55 to St. Pancras is delayed and a lot of SE trains are running as delayed or cancelled.
With that argument, they might as well not bothered with Crossrail as long established trains from Greenford won't be able to run to Paddington. I'm enjoying this new Thameslink services (although admittedly when it runs at the moment) at Greenwich. Makes getting to north London a lot easier and...
The thing I don't get with this discussion is, if one doesn't want to change at Gravesend for a faster SE train to London Bridge via Sidcup, why would you want to change at Abbey Wood for Crossrail. Granted, maybe Thameslink should be made fast between Gravesend and Dartford and HS call at...
<quote>You've answered your own question there. What benefit is there of stopping Woolwich-Blackheath trains at New Cross?</quote> I did not ask a question, I was only replying to "Ze random one". I answered this in my earlier post.
On the Thameslink going via Lewisham subject, that would be...
I think the services via Lewisham from the Woolwich line should stop at New Cross for the connection to London Overground. I don't think 3-4 minutes extra on the trains run to stop at St. John's and New Cross as significant.
Woolwich and Abbey Wood should loose their fast trains on the SE...
