We follow a set process when checking whether compensation is applicable. The details of any delay are verified using industry systems which hold historic train running information. We have reviewed your claim(s) and can confirm the following: Journey Details 13 June 2019 East Croydon to...

    Southern Delay Repay System

I was told by Southern that the 6:27 from East Croydon to Tonbridge via Redhill is not recorded on their system although its recorded on National Rail web site. So when making delay repay it gets declined. If I miss the 6:52 from Redhill to Tonbridge then I have to wait until 7:23 for the next...

    Virgin East Coast

You are guilty until proven innocent when you travel by trains. I did try to explain it. I explained to the Wakefield ticket office and he said it wasn't valid and then his colleague said it was. Told me to talk to customer services. Rang customer services then and they said didn't I read...

    Stranded

The Midland trains guy said he didn't know why it was advertised as the same train had been cancelled all week. I feel that Midland trains are to blame as well because the guy could have organise transport. I felt he was just passing the "buck" onto the underground or for ourselves to find...

    Stranded

On April 24 Southern train decided to cancel the 23:39 train from Watford Junction to east Croydon. There was only a guy from Midland trains and he advised to catch the 23:59 to Euston and change. By the time I got to Euston the Victoria line was shut. I end up taking the northern line to...

    Delay Refund - TFL

I travel from East Croydon to Watford Junction and have purchased a zone 1-9 +Watford junction on my oyster card. If I am delayed on the underground, is it just the underground part of the journey that they have to refund or the complete journey? Dr

    Funny story

About a month after winning my court case with TFL I received a phone from Hays asking if I was interested in taking a contract role with TFL. My contract was coming to an end so I said yes I was interested. They told me it would be an initial phone interview and then a face to face interview. I...

Confiscated rail-only season ticket used on bus

I won my case against TFL. Facts Season Ticket was withdrawn – no contest Temporary authority to travel written incorrectly – no contest Penalty Fare Notice not issued TFL argue that the letter sent the next day is sufficient evidence of a penalty fare. The judge questioned whether the author...

Confiscated rail-only season ticket used on bus

That's correct National Rail own the ticket. I was actually advised to report it lost or stolen by a TFL employee. So I did - both to the police and Southern Trains. There are laws that cover what they are allowed to seize and where (I was not on the bus at the time the ticket was seized)...

now you see it now you don't

Update on this issue - A letter was sent to TFL by registered post. Heard nothing back from TFL so contacted London Travel Watch. TFL were only going to offer the £1:45. Eventually they have offered £10 which was accepted. They didn't offer any explanation as to why it happened.

Confiscated rail-only season ticket used on bus

Just a quick update - I now know exactly what happened through my own investigation. TFL have offered some money but no liability. I think they now realise that they were not telling the truth and their versions of the facts was incorrect on the defense statement. This is all less than 2...

    Can ticket inspectors accuse you?

The incident happened as I coming into East Croydon station on Southern. The ticket inspector (looked like the train conductor) was asking to see tickets so I show her mine. She got her oyster card reader out and said “your ticket is not valid”. I said “I’m sure it is as I used it at Watford...

    Can ticket inspectors accuse you?

Can ticket inspectors accuse you of not having a valid ticket? I thought if they were not sure they would take your details and then send you a letter to say whether it was valid or not. If they were sure they would issue you a PFN? Is this correct? Dr
