Via Birmingham.
So yet another inconsistency & complexity in our ticketing system.
For the outward journey 3 weeks ago I booked an e-ticket.
I'm going to send the money and he'll book at the station when he arrives for the train but maybe with no seat reservation.
I'm trying to book a single from Bournemouth to Stourbridge Town for tomorrow for someone else so need to be able to email ticket, but Cross Country, LNER & Greater Anglia all only giving option to collect at station.
I've never come across this before as it usually offers email option.
Any...
On many occasions I see passengers given the choice to upgrade or move from First Class. Other than Weekend First it's fairly rare for people to take upgrade choice. Most move to Standard, either apologetically because 'they didn't realise it was First' or more grudgingly. I have never seen a...
I think there should be warning by either signs or audio (or both) that passengers in First Class without a First Class ticket may be charged an additional fee – whether a penalty fare, fine, or upgraded ticket.

I assumed there would be a better discount. Is this typical or do CS not get much...
We’ve given up after sitting in 12.43 at Liverpool for two hours. Booked back into hotel and will travel tomorrow.
Passengers were told to get 14.33 to Birmingham. Which they promptly cancelled but then reinstated 15 mins late.
We’re at Liverpool sitting on 12.43 to London which is being held due to wires down on slow lines near Hemel Hempstead. Trains backed up and seems no idea when we’ll leave. Does anyone have more information.
Wondering if we’d be better finding another route.
But why would one not want to discount all the eligible tickets?
There should be no need to input the number of passengers twice.
I wonder if this is Avanti trying to catch people out or their website system designer making it unnecessarily complicated?
Thanks. I think I just entered that there is one Family Railcard and didn't notice that they ask you to add the people to whom it applies.
I've never seen that before. I rarely buy tickets on Avanti's website because I find it hard to use - it only seems to want to sell single tickets unless you...
