Agreed. Having a train every 15 mins or so from Burnham is much better than the previous 30 mins service we had under GWR. Softens the blow a bit if one train is cancelled.
I’m not sure about Iver but I don’t think Langley can be extended southbound due to railway equipment. Northbound definitely not as the road bridge is in the way. As others have said SDO doesn’t really make it a problem.
Of course but I’m not sure how appealing it would be for match day fans. But definitely a plus to have another option to and from the stadium, and for the business workers in Green Park too. This has been in the works for a long time so it is good to finally see the station up and running.
The issue I have is the train service being every 30 mins so not really appealing. I’ll probably still use the buses or brave the walk down the A33 but it is good to have another viable option, especially those living south of Reading.
Have no choice to use it as my local station is only served by Elizabeth line services. Can’t say I’ve had a major issue with it apart from the odd delays here and there in morning peaks. For direct access to the West End and Canary Wharf it is an absolute game changer.
I suppose it’s too early to say but has anyone heard of the proposed match day services? As a season ticket holder at the Mad Stad it would make my journey from Burnham much easier. Imagine it would have to be Turbo shuttles if anything and there probably aren’t enough units based at Reading to...
Travelled between Burnham & Whitechapel yesterday, journey was fine albeit the short delays outside of Paddington as others have mentioned. Made my journey to Wapping so much easier than before. Will be travelling again tomorrow to Euston so with one simple change at Tottenham Court Road it will...
As someone who has no choice in using the 345s between Burnham & Paddington, I’d agree they should not be used past Reading. 387s are more than suitable for the Didcot - Paddington services. Whilst the 387s have their flaws, they are a significant upgrade from the 345s.
Think it hit 32c in Slough yesterday, my office was very cool but when I walked over to the main hospital building I felt the strength of the sun! Didn’t cool down much last night either, still about 21c at night which lead to an uncomfortable nights sleep
