One of my trips from Manchester to London developed a 1 hour delay en route.
But I didn’t claim delay repay because I wasn’t in a rush and I enjoyed taking the slow scenic route around Birmingham.
Liverpool Street Elizabeth Line station does smell damp. Myself and other people I know have noticed this.
I find it hard to believe that people claim they can’t smell it.
Because you can’t plug a train into a fibre optic cable and starlink isn’t at full strength yet.
The railway could build its own private wireless network to broadcast the signal from trackside to the train, but that would be expensive.

Two ways.
On the Elizabeth line and Jubilee line the trains have CCTV screens in the cabs which shows feeds from cameras on the platform.
The second way is that the PED door system is integrated into the trains door system so if a door is not closed it will show as not closed in the cab.
Escalators wider than 1m do not exist. None of the manufacturers make them and since escalator users are supposed to hold the handrail it is not hard to see why since legally they would not be able to carry any more people than a 1m wide one.

Actually all of the navigation and control calculations for the Apollo programme were done in metric. The results were then converted to imperial units which were displayed to the engineers and astronauts.
The train trams will be used to expand the network to places it does not currently serve over network rail infrastructure. Not to replace the existing fleet.
