Anybody heard from Northern yet? I've noted the conductors posts have progressed to online testing.

Yep had the joy of the northern way. Just reading some previous posts , 1200 applications, ?4 positions. (Based on Average 300:1 applications per position) so if 220 get stage 1 tests then that's 55 per post . Me is expecting a v. Big cull of hopefuls. Hoping my maths is wrong but can't see ftpe...

Need help with my maths. Checked with bloke from opc this am. Ftpe sent 220 for stage 1 tests. If tocs working on ratio of 8 applicants per post (to test) then that's 27 posts , conversely if they send 12 per post then that's 18 positions. Are ftpe really that short, because if those numbers...

Well garlic bread had his stage 1 at York this am. Brought back fond memories of the old tests , oh how I missed mech. Comprehension 😝. Good luck to rest of the group (25 in one go , shoulder to shoulder Cramped into a too small room . OPC must've thought we were sardines)

Hi everybody, For all of us lucky sods who got past the phone interview, has anybody got a stage 1 test date yet?

having just had the pleasure of the phone interview ( v . weird experience not seeing the other person and missing out on visual cues, reactions etc..) does anyone know where and when tpe do the psycho tests? (if i get that far)

wonder if they will withdraw the Leeds trainee driver thats recently gone up then! hopefully not...

Northern will take their own sweet time. it can be measured in aeons. Why not try contacting HR ? 2 weeks does seem a bit longer than necessary. I've usually heard within 10 days after these tests.

Interviewer said 5 year lock in or repay sliding scale of fees dependent on time served. Also alluded to 5 years until full pay.

Thinking about this one. Does anybody know the pay scales? Advert just says the usual £ competitive. Noted company pension, so no final salary scheme then and presume its a sliding scale of repayable fees if u leave early etc. anybody got more info? --- old post above --- --- new post below ---...

Top guess, having read the trainee (wo)man job blurb would be along lines of yard work/ shunting duties. Perhaps bev can shed some light?

Quick q, roughly how long between interview and assessment dates? Could be v helpful if i need to juggle shifts at work

Good for you mate. If you could remember any of the questions they asked or any info on the number of vacancies and interviewees that would be a big help and much appreciated.:D

Dont hold your breath. I'm still on hold from Feb. Miracles may occur but i'm hoping for DRS. (at least they talk to you)
