I have made my first TFW trips this week from Manchester to Cardiff, First Class.
Unfortunately my first trip was the 1430 from Man on Tuesday which turned up a 150 two car, very very disappointed.
More luck today on the 0849 from CDF, I had a very nice brekkie although only one serving member...
There used to be a lot of china clay trains in Cornwall back in the day.
In recent years this has turned into very few.
Was the prime reason less demand for the clay in the Potteries or did the supplies of the clay around the greater St Austell area run out?
Hello aar0, I live in Leicester but I am thinking of going to Nuneaton to Manchester Piccadilly to then have a ride on the Loco hauled TFW to Cardiff.
I would then stop at Sleeperz, Cardiff and return the next day.
Can you book a First Class seat or is it first come first served, also do they...
A friend went to Barrow in Furness yesterday to watch a football match for the first time in 55 years at Barrow. We know about the delays.
He travelled from Crewe and booked his tickets with EMR, who does he claim delay repay from, EMR or Northern?
TIA
From my OP you will have seen the Azuma did Kings Cross to Darlington in 25 minutes, what a ride that was.:)
Of course I made a mistake 1W11 is the 1000 Kings Cross to Aberdeen service and not 1200.

Thank you all, I rang CS and they apologised for making the mistake and they are going...
On Tuesday 19th March I had a LNER Standard Advance single from Newark Northgate to Leuchars with a Darlington change.
My ticket stipulated 1S10 0930 from Kings Cross which left NNG on time at 1046 and arriving DAR on time at1205.
The second train was 1W11 1200 KGX to ABD, this train left DAR on...
Many of you will have seen the Freightliner Intermodal guards unit outside the NRM at York.
Were these ever used on trains in the 1960's? I was a freight guard in 1970 and my container train trips were in the rear cab of the loco.
I wouldn't fancy being in one of those units at the rear of a...
If I had a LNER Advance ticket from London Kings Cross to say Aberdeen, and I decided to stop short of my destination at say Dundee.
Would my ticket be valid and work the barriers? If not what fare would I have to pay?
Ever since the Eurostar takeover MML and EMR has been a bit part player at St Pancras instead of the main TOC.
All this fuss over digital signalling on the ECML, if I am a passenger sitting in First I can just look at Opentraintimes and see what's ahead, can't the driver do the same? :D.
