Anecdotal I know but from what I saw last week when I was up there is that the ScotRail services are popular given TPE’s reliability problems. I used the 1108 a number of times to get into Edinburgh and there was always a large number of people on the platform.
I did use a TPE to get home one...
The TPE 802s appear to all be being named after castles. For example 802210 was named Hailes Castle at the opening of East Linton station last week and I’ve seen others. Does anyone have a list of the current names on each unit?
802210 named Hailes Castle to celebrate opening of station.

I think the first Edinburgh bound train is around 1108 and this will be the one with the fanfare. The local school kids are doing something for the opening too.
The first train will actually be the 1039 to Dunbar (1010 from Edinburgh) though or so I’m led to believe.
Full timetable from the...
Aren't there fewer trains on the first day?
Is it because there is some kind of event for the opening of the station to meet the first Edinburgh bound train?
Yeah a gap between 1742 and 2228 is not ideal for trains heading to Edinburgh from East Linton is not ideal. Hopefully this can be plugged in the future with an additional Scotrail Dunbar service. On the whole though the schedule isn't too bad (this gap aside).
if you add in all of the TPE services on Realtime trains which show stops at ELT (not yet in the WTT) then you get what is in the attached excel (this is for a wednesday in December). Looks alot better. The only real gap is between 1740 and 2227 towards Edinburgh. I am not saying all of these...
Fantastic news. I do wonder what sort of frequency we can expect. Are the December timetable changes available yet?
It looks as though the Scotrail services are loaded (6 per day from Edinburgh, 5 per day to Edinburgh) and they all seem to call at Musselburgh and Wallyford between East Linton...
The station will open in December apparently according to a RAGES update today (apologies it was on Facebook). This will be before the Markle crossing works are complete.
Has there been anything else on planned service frequency yet. East Linton is now on real time trains showing calling trains when I looked at a random date in December.
