What is the limit on paths on the Cambrian? Is it the long stretch between Shrewsbury and Welshpool or something else? The loops seem to be fairly regular after Welshpool
The trackbed is still there up to the rear of McDonald’s - from there there is the small matter of a drop in height of around 100 feet, the m4 motorway directly ahead and the river taff to cross before joining the line to radyr - the best place to join would be around the gelynis farm crossing
I believe that when Fishguard harbour first opened in 1906 there were 5 platform faces - however 2 of these served the same track. There were also multiple sidings
My best is Leeds to Cardiff - around 2005/6. Leeds to Birmingham new steeet via Doncaster, Loughborough, Leicester and Nuneaton, followed by a Birmingham to Cardiff service via Worcester
Presumably if it’s a loop from dingle road to penarth it will allow the frequency to be enhanced as currently only one train can go onto the branch at a time.
First time into Cardiff in a while today (home working) and noticed they’ve disconnected the bay platform (p1) at queen street - what’s the plan for this?
