    Drivers v Signallers

Track possessions for PWAY staff is one reason being discussed in the mess rooms I go in. I agree it can be fustrating, but I just smile. The timetables out the window when it happens.

    Class 195 sanders

It'll probably be the same as the 196s. No sand below 10mph & yes it's become noticeable at this time of the year!

    Rugby Union

I'm talking about the commercial reality of most top level clubs. CVC deal whilst lauded at the time carried with it some wild assumptions which many at the top seemingly were oblivious to or ignored. They saw the £12.4m cash on offer there and then and took it. Premiership clubs were already...

    Rugby Union

Hit the nail on the head. 1664211824 A sad day for Rugby Union. The CVC deal was the start of the downward spiral.

Services Suspended between Nuneaton and Leamington Spa from 27/12/21.

Add onto Covid that Leamington have had a few retirees since the pandemic started, then couple it with the backlog in training and it gets you the answer. It's the easiest route to bustitute.

22nd February - Roadmap out of the pandemic, lifting of restrictions.

Surprised there isn't more uproar on here over that, unless it's on the previous 38 pages. It's a sign that government support will continue right across the economy whilst restrictions remain.

Food for thought for those applying - Risk of over preparing for the driver tests

This thread reminds me of doing stage 2 at Watford in the past. 4 coppers plus me and a guard all waiting for the MMI. The lad who was the internal spoke for all of 2 minutes about how drivers had been off for months post incident, spoke about the low (but real) course failure rate and how for...

    Kenilworth Station Closure

All depends on how long this goes on for. 6 months is the general rule before a refresh is required.

New lockdown in England, including school closures, announced by Johnson, 4/1/21

On a slightly different point I was disgusted to see Professor Tim Spector appear to be cut off his interview with Sophy Ridge this morning. Conveniently got cut off when he replied to one of her questions, told the truth about the media focusing on certain statistics to scare the public. An...

New lockdown in England, including school closures, announced by Johnson, 4/1/21

It's baffling that schools are considered for re-opening before outdoor sports facilities.

"Clap For Carers" is back again

Ah yes, Piers' trip to Antigua (?) over Christmas which seems to have been kept low key. Wonder how much he paid out to keep that quiet?

RMT on the possible 2 year pay freeze

Any strike by any grade would play directly into Mr Wilkinson's hands (if he's still there?). Just getting through the next few years without being made redundant should be most people's focus. It's those in training or waiting to start that will be the first targets of any headcount (&cost)...

New lockdown in England, including school closures, announced by Johnson, 4/1/21

Not from labour at least. Starmer to me seems to love lockdown. After all under Corbyn it seened a socialist party in all but name who's main principles are state control.

New lockdown in England, including school closures, announced by Johnson, 4/1/21

Exactly. No point making the first easing schools, outdoor activities carry the lowest risk so it makes sense to a simpleton like me to ease those restrictions first, subject to the usual measures we've all become used to.

New lockdown in England, including school closures, announced by Johnson, 4/1/21

Opening outdoor sports facilities subject to the current exercise guidance/law would be a start. Same as last May. 2 balls in golf for example. Schools should be the first thing to open up but they're not the lowest risk of transmission. Can see Boris backtracking on that pledge.
