    Balsall Common Viaduct

Perhaps this is all to mitigate complaints that seats don't line up with the windows? If there's nothing to see, it won't matter quite so much :D

Thamelink only valid on Gatwick Express train from London Bridge to Hove?

Without wanting to get into all the other technicalities, Gatwick Express services do not run to Hove, nor do they depart from London Bridge. This is a Southern service, although it may well be operated by red class 387 Gatwick Express units.

    Gloucester Yard Junction

Excellent news! Today's arrivals were mostly punctual and those that weren't were delayed long before they arrived in the county.

    Includes Hovercraft - Or Not?

Similarly: one return trip (pre-Covid). On a warm June afternoon, the nominal half-hourly timetable seemed to have been replaced by a turn-up-and-go service with an extra vessel operating. I seem to remember little more than a cursory scan of the rail ticket. In addition, I made no use of the...

Brighton & Hove / Metrobus Discussion

If there was any hydrogen at Crawley, there would already have been a withdrawal and cascade in the single-deck fleet. Bustimes indicates that just one Hydroliner (of 20) was operating today and that's already gone home for the night.

    London Buses Saver Ticket Query

I seem to remember you could ask the driver for a continuation voucher (or something of that nature) to present to the driver of your next bus in these circumstances. I guess that, with a daily bus fare cap equating to just 3 journeys, and now the existence of the Hopper fare, this is considered...

Thanks. Shame GWR don't think it worth mentioning on their JourneyCheck page

    Gloucester Yard Junction

Thanks. I'll plan on a 10 minute delay for now

    Gloucester Yard Junction

With a trip to Gloucester planned for next week, I've been checking Real time Trains to see how things have been recently. I've noticed that arrivals from Paddington are routinely being held at Gloucester Yard Junction, getting to Gloucester around 10 minutes late and there's nothing about this...

And neither for tickets through London so far as I can see from my brief investigations (from the south anyway).

    "Missing" London bus journey

Do London buses ever fail to track? It's not unknown elsewhere (if using the map on bustimes.org)?

    Special Offers Discussion

Are Thameslink taking part? Using the GBRS landing page and perusing "trains from" Gatwick, the "trains to" list reveals nothing for the likes of Cambridge, Hitchin & Peterborough. Typing "bed" doesn't bring up Bedford, just Bedhampton & Bedminster.

Timetabling oddity at Three Bridges this weekend

Victoria to Gatwick was a Southern service via Horsham (and naturally, Three Bridges). The supposed TBD & GTW shuttle appeared to be a continuation of a Thameslink service to and from Brighton, so I was wondering why it wasn't timetabled as the through service that it very much seemed to be.

Timetabling oddity at Three Bridges this weekend

There's engineering work closing the line north of Gatwick all this weekend. Thameslink are running the trains north from Brighton and these are shown on Realtime Trains & Live Departures as terminating at Three Bridges. Thameslink are also apparently running a shuttle from Three Bridges to...
