I don't think anyone really knows to be honest, Gillingham is also due 13 new StreetDecks but everything has gone quite about them too, for all we know arriva may have cancelled the order but hopefully not.
With wrightbus now having gone into administration, does anyone know what is likely to happen to the 28 streetlite and 13 streetdeck orders for Hemel Hempstead and Gillingham?
Gillingham are due to recieve 13 sapphire spec Wright Streetdecks this autumn for service 101 with the existing E400's transferring to other Kent based depots.
Several of Gillingham's E200 mmc's are being repainted into Fastrack livery and are being subsequently transferred to Northfleet with several of there 15reg streetlites moving to Gillingham in exchange.
Last week I overheard 2 Gillingham based drivers saying that route 101 (Gillingham - Maidstone) is due to receive some new double deckers (type unknown) later this year.
Update: The current southeastern franchise has been extended to 22nd June 2019 due to the continued delayed announcement of the new southeastern franchise operator.
Yeah I suppose you have a point there, I just thought the timing was a bit short given that normally when the dft announce a new franchise winner, its about 4 or 5 months before the new franchise is scheduled to begin.
Oh OK, that's a really short amount of time before the new franchise is scheduled to begin, unless the dft are planning on giving govia another short extension to the existing contract.
