Agreed. Thinking of the cross industry groups they run, they’ll have to be somewhere so imagining it will just be a bit of a seed block for the new org.
Looks like the Rail Delivery Group come out of this fairly well. Quite clear they’ll be absorbed into a trade function and the rest into GBR. Interesting all round.
Hi all,
I’m moving from a TOC to another shortly and was wondering how this affects my pension and travel facilities.
Have continuous service in my current TOC since 2017, so do I keep my international rail travel benefits? And also how does it work with the pension, sorry for the ignorance...
I imagine now we move to a full KRS or Sunday timetable industry wide? Reduces costs and ultimately protects rail jobs as well. Though I think they're already some of the safest you can have...
Hi all,
Just a thought about our industry and coronavirus. Is there scope for redundancies as a result of coronavirus reducing travel? Or are all TOCs underwritten by government so much it’s unlikely?
thanks!
If we’re going along the lines of vertical integration between infrastructure provider and operator. To time the SE franchise more in line with GTRs process, both could be resolved under whatever recommendations Williams argues for.
Should have probably been clearer there - my assumption of...
Direct award inevitable then to give time to review the bids and make them offer more....
What seems more likely is they drag this process out until GTR re-tendered to do the process all as one? - in-line with Williams. Or am I just being cynical?
Corresponds well with what was said about OLR being engaged and Govia 'beavering away.' Sounds like Govia have agreed to keep it temporarily but are extracting what they can from the DFT, only question is how long is this delay? I imagine it might include some provision for rolling stock rollout...
Exactly what I believe to be the case. Less politically damaging for DFT then direct award and cancelling the franchise and can be framed within Williams review context.
HH is this what you think to be the case?
