Hi John,
I'll have to admit that I spoke only from my own memories of the train I'm not aware if there are any in-depth books available on this subject. I have a copy of the Foxline publication "Woodhead- Pt One" in this there are a couple of shots of the train when steam & electrically hauled during the 50s/60s the train then still routed via Man Central and terminating at Liverpool Central until 1969, my apologies if you are already aware of this. Finally I have a couple of Eastern Region Passenger T/Tables from 72/73 & 73/74 showing the full timings & intermediate calling points, also a couple more slides ( one when a class 40 deputised for the usual 37) sorry I can't be of more help,
Regards,
Steve.
