Hi All, Does anybody know how reliable the night time trains are from London to Gatwick? I'm thinking of getting the 03:08 train from Clapham Junction to Gatwick in a couple of weeks . I just wondered how reliable it is before I make plans to use it. Thanks in advance John

Great pub! Between 17:00 and 19:00 week days is always a good time. Lots of mixed traffic, commuter and freight.

Are the 379s more expensive to run? I often see them on sidings at Cambridge not in service. I'm hardly ever lucky enough to board one. I often just get stuck with an old 317 making any journey along the WAML.

Are both of these trains still capable of traveling at 225km/h? I understand the reasons they don't. I'm just curious, are they limited by hardware or software etc..?

Why is this happening? Is work in the Ely North junction beginning?

I've seen the odd 8 car 365/379 venture North of Ely in peak times.

Could this be used to free up an AGA 170 or two? I wonder if one can make it from Cambridge to Haughley Junction/Stowmarket as a regular timetabled service.

Pretty pointless passenger airport in my opinion. Being so close to Stansted and adding to that, there are not many flights to and from Cambridge.

I find it silly that road is often cheaper than rail for journeys such as this. Not to mention the hassle of delayed trains and getting though central London. Roll on 2018 and we will hopefully have a direct connection to Gatwick :)

I'm Going to be doing the same journey myself soon. Worked out that cost of petrol and airport parking for a week is 6 an 2 3s.

would this be because a sprinter does 75/90mph vs 125mph? Will a voyager still use up more fuel than a sprinter at lower speeds?
