  • See post dated 3rd April mate. All advice is there!!!

Apart from that, just be yourself and do your best on the test stuff!!
I did some research into the DB Schenker profile and quite a bit of research into what type of work that particular depot carries out, but it tended to focus on you more that anything else (don't write it off completely mind. You never know!!)
Generally, I found it to be a good, relaxed interview (if such a thing actually exists!!) in comparison to the drivers day beastie!!

Hope this helps mate! Best of luck to you!
    Hi Dan.

As to the final interview, it was with the Production Manager(s) of the depot you applied for. They did have all the information to hand from the driver assessment day and it was referred to for some of the questions.

The managers interviewing me tended to ask a lot of questions based on myself (e.g. "So tell me about yourself" and "Why does this particular job interest you?" etc etc) after introducing themselves and their backgrounds. Questions were mainly based on my own past experiences such as how you find working alone, shift work and starting turns at some ludicrous times of the night! Questions were similar to the Driver Day interview, although there was nowhere near the same amount of 'nit picking' your experiences to pieces!
    Hi Keith

I've got my stage 3 interview once they send me a date!
Could you give me a heads up on the questions asked at the final interview please?
I've done research but just after more information to research exactly what I'm going to get asked
    Regards Dan
Thanks for that, I am already on the railway so I know how intense these tests are likely to be. Will see what happens on the day, will also cancel my trip to WHSmith for a GCSE maths revision book!

Out of 5 of us starting, only 2 made it to interview as if you fail on one criteria test, it's game over. My interview lasted for 2 hours, and considering we'd been on the go since 9am, I didn't leave until 6pm for a 3 1/2 hour drive back to South Wales! Knackering! Don't mean to put the frighteners up you, but trying to give you the full heads up!! Make sure you've got some good stories to tell!!

Just crack on and give it your all, and you'll be fine!

    Hope this helps!
    Hello mate.

They didn't throw in any extras for my driver assessment day, only stuck to the script as it were. Paper tests: Group bourdon, concentration, trainability and ability to recall information, writing a short report aswell based on info they give you. Computer tests: vigilance (staring at a flashing grey square for 30 mins - mind boggler that one!!), ability to take information quickly (image of a street flashes for a second and you must name what you saw), how you think in different situations (this one is also for the interview). Interview: this was a beast! One of those psychometric jobbies where they give you a pre-interview form to fill out where you describe a situation you've been in. Make sure you put some good stuff down as they properly pick it apart.
    Hi,

I too have applied to DBS but for Warrington and Peak Forest. Just a quick question, what extra tests did they throw in at the assesment stage in Doncaster? I have an assesment coming up and have received the practice papers, I have a few contacts in DBS and apprently they sometimes throw in some more tests like numeracy etc.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
