How long does it take to get GWR refunds at the moment?

As a matter of interest, I did not hear anything at all from GWR Refunds, but just happened to be looking at my Paypal account, which showed the refund had been made.

How long does it take to get GWR refunds at the moment?

I posted off my tickets to FREEPOST GWR REFUNDS on 24 March and the money was back in my account some time yesterday, 11 April.

    New GWR Timetable

We keep getting bombarded with the news that everything is going to be better, faster and more frequent from 15 December - but where are the paper timetables - and pdf timetables? It is less than two weeks away now.

Between West London and Penzance by local bus?

Apparently in Cornwall you no longer have to wait until 09:30, as I discovered when I was down there a few weeks ago. The concessionary pass is available at all times.

First South West (Kernow & Buses of Somerset)

I managed to get hold of a copy of Kernow's new Summer timetable, and am surprised that they seem to have abolished the rule that Concessionary Pass holders can only travel free between 09:30 and 23:00 on Monday to Friday. The new timetable clearly states, "If you have an English National...

Does this relaxation of the rules apply only to Cornwall residents, or are visitors, such as me from upcountry, included as well?

Yes, there must be quite a few of us who like to steer clear of that!

If anyone is missing a rather smart all-over-gold Alexander-bodied decker with First Camborne legal lettering, I can report that it is operating Rail Replacement at Bristol Parkway this morning.

Oh dear Applegates...just outside SGBC depot

It must have given that bridge quite a clout, as there are several bricks missing from the arch (more than there were before). I have seen the results of several bridge strikes there over the years, but it usually just causes a hole in the front nearside roof corner, not the total loss of the...

    Circuitous Journey

I want to travel from Bournemouth to Paignton, on 11 July, spend a week there, then return on 18 July, but stopping off at Bristol Parkway for a few days on the way, and completing the journey on Sunday 22 July. If I consult the GWR mixing desk for this trip, entering BPW as a via point, I am...

I had rather a shock this morning - Fal River L638SEU at Bristol Parkway Station, allegedly "Not in Service". It seems slightly off the beaten track, up here.

I wonder if FSW Official or one of his colleagues could have a quiet word with the driver of today’s Atlantic Coaster A4 which was scheduled to leave Quintrell Downs at 09.35 for the journey to St Ives, in order to point out that the advertised route includes Porthtowan, Beach Road. I was...

    Equipment mounted on 70810?

Many thanks for all the highly informative replies - I have definitely learned something today!

    Equipment mounted on 70810?

Can anyone enlighten me as to what I saw, mounted on the bufferbeams at the front and rear of 70810, this morning at Bristol Parkway? It seems, according to Realtimetrains, to be what is listed as 069R, the scheduled 06:00 from Westbury Up TC back to Westbury, running some 247 minutes early...

    West Country Independents

I guess that you are probably referring to that restaurant with the chicken-run in the back garden.
