Don't think too much on it - I can't put my finger on it, it's just a general improvement in style that comes with experience.
Not that there was anything wrong with them before!
Welcome back!
Great read as ever - even better since your Wordpress stuff actually - and congrats on clearing the Jubilee.
Glad to see you back on the rails, I hope you continue to enjoy it :)
Welcome back to the forum! I had no idea you’d returned to the Green Army - best of luck there :)
As an aside, I’d recommend watching the All The Stations documentary - you can recapture a love of rail travel without going back to spotting!
Just been reading back a bit on Page 90, as you’re prolific as ever and I needed some reading material!
Good reads as always Kite, you do get around..! An overnight rail tour sounds pretty hardcore!
Had to pop in and read this as you were around my neck of the woods :)
Sorry I didn’t put 2 and 2 together and say hello at Cardiff - just imagine I tipped my hat to you as you left!
Having never heard of most of those welsh shacks (I just head east usually!), I imagine they’re not the easiest...
Just caught up with this - cracking read LSG, you really bring these trips and memories to life!
Thanks for reminding me that I’ve never had a 37, and that the opportunity for a day on the rails round these parts is very limited (hence my absence from the forum)! :(
That chav lad certainly got...
I can only echo what the others have said. There's not much in the way of decent trains in my current neck of the woods, so my interest has also been diverted. But it was your trip reports that got me into the railways, and they were always an excellent read.
Enjoy your break in norm land...
Project Mapping is excellent. They do a huge 1A map which contains all the stations, and a selection of smaller ones (A2) which covers all lines and most stations.
In fact, I'm just about to get a PM map printed out to record my own route coverage!
