Crewe station is crying out for a micropub with a decent selection of real ales and wine. Throw in a few ham/cheese cobs and pork pies and the like and it would make a killing! All the pubs within 15 minutes walk away from the station are dire!

At least when/if you miss your connection you get your money back!

There are two park and ride sites at Hazel Grove, one at the rail station which is quite well used but only of any use if travelling to Manchester and another huge site at the terminus of the 192 bus which probably holds over 150 cars but rarely sees more than a dozen cars parked in it, as...

But wasn’t the Dales Rail service regularly cancelled owing to no (presumably Blackpool) train crew being available…?

I wonder what market share percentage rail would have had on the London-Glasgow route if there hadn’t been any industrial action and Avanti could operate something resembling the published timetable?

Liverpool to Llandudno pushed back from 2023 (?) until 2026 subject to level crossing issues near the caravan parks - in other words scrapped leaving the costly Halton Curve as an almost hourly shuttle between Liverpool and Chester with random connections along the coast.

Indeed both bus and rail services specified / operated by the Senedd!

I guess you could throw in a couple of trips on the 65 to/from Buxton and maybe the Peak Sightseer could be ‘electrified!’ Then there are also the myriad of electric bus services promised when (if) Peak Resort at Unstone ever gets built…!

Moderator note: split from this thread It seems odd to me that there aren’t as far as I am aware ‘Any Station’ tickets to the likes of New Mills (Central/Newtown) or Blackpool (North/South) I guess there other examples across the network…?

They do carry passengers if they connect into/out of mainline trains at the Junction…

When I first read this I thought it was an April Fools Day spoof! £100,000 in consultants fees for a feasibility study for something that will never happen! Quicker, cheaper and easier to provide a bus at weekends that connects with trains at Buxton - it could be up and running within 6 weeks!

Sadly in north Wales and across swathes of northern England you do have to check rail timetables every day before you set out…

So probably Tim Martin gained the most from the Charter Train rather than local independent Welsh businesses….!

Not sure, but I have tried to use the TfGM Wayfarer a few times on perfectly valid cross GM boundary routes and struggled to get acceptance from the driver!
