Recently refurbished 375908 was a revelation this evening.
No screeching seat back tables! Could it be the case that Bombardier have finally found a solution to this seemingly impossible problem?:idea:
And likewise some of the now downgraded first class areas on the 375/8s still retain first class headrests. It might be because the 375/8s have hand holds on the headrests themselves but either way it's poor execution and/or quality control on the part of Southeastern.
On a connected note I'm...
A 23 car 375 has run before as this Youtube video shows. Although this was of course in exceptional circumstances and not in public service.

Correct, but those are the refreshed 465/9s which we've already established are in much better condition.
The 465/0/1/2s referred to are truly grubby inside which doesn't show very well in the photo.
Do 377/1s have the slightly odd "extra" luggage space (instead of two seats) that is a feature on some Southern 377s? And if so, will it be removed and replaced with seating?

I noticed a Class 377 pulling into Sevenoaks this evening operating the Thameslink service. This is the first time I have seen this stock used on this part of the Thameslink network, as it's always been 319s to date as far I am aware. I'm pretty fond of the 319s but I would imagine in the recent...
I salute your approach sir (although I cannot agree that every standing at the back of the platform is either workable or remotely practical - and this particular problem didn't exist a month ago as the new platforms were yet to be opened).
But let's not fall out - the point I was trying to...
Here's a pic taken on an afternoon last week, just before the peak period. The narrowness of the platform is pretty evident. As mentioned in my previous post, I really wouldn't feel comfortable with people trying to pass behind me in a hurry at a busy time.
It was interesting looking out from my train home at how very narrow most parts of the platforms are. The problem is that whilst the platforms are adequately wide overall, a huge part of the width is taken up with the void for the escalator/stairway space. This leaves much narrower usable...
