    A career as a signaller

Hi all, I'm booked onto a course in York, commencing February the 17th. I am based in Teesside. Does anyone know whether I'll be booked into a hotel for the duration or expected to travel each day, with it not being too much of a distance. Either is fine but with 3 young kids I was rather...

    A career as a signaller

Hi all, I have been told today by my LOM that I'm off to Signalling School on Jan the 13th in Shettleston, Scotland. I've had a look and Shettleston is in Glasgow. Does anybody have any experience of attending school in Scotland? Any advice, info would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Thanks Llanigraham. I'll have another look on this thread. Tbh I'm unsure as to whether it's a 12 or 8 hour roster. Only my medical to go (gulp!) then it will be off to Westwood in February by the looks of it. I was hoping for York for convenience but over-the-moon regardless. Thank you as well...

    A career as a signaller

Hi, I've been offered a Grade 2 position at Crag Hall, near Saltburn. Pre-employment checks completed just waiting for my medical. When I had my interview the LOM at the time said the shifts were condensed into 3 weeks with a week off at the end of each month. I was just wondering whether anyone...

Yeah, Hi Liam, yes I'm sure you were interviewed on the same day as me then in that case. The LOM did suggest I might hear something the following week but somewhat reassuring to know others are in the same situation. Is it a good or bad sign I suppose is the question haha It seems they have...

Yeah, I think that's what lead me to my question. With it being under the same LOM would you essentially be being interviewed for any of the signal boxes that fall under his remit. Therefore would an unsuccessful in one immediately mean the same for the other. I've had my question answered...

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping for that to be the case (in a perverse way). Oh well, the wait goes on. Hopefully hear soon. Thank you again.

    A career as a signaller

Hi all. I was wondering whether anyone could offer their opinion. I had an interview 4 weeks ago (tomorrow) for a Signaller position at Middlesbrough. The interview seemed to go well. I also simultaneously applied for a position at Crag Hall which is under the remit of the same LOM that the...
