    ITSO Smartcard contactless tickets

The thing you are missing here is that single and returns are added via NFC on a phone or at a machine are date specific. You will not be able to use them the following day, the likelihood of someone trying to use the same ticket on the same day doing the same journey is negligible so I'd argue...

    ITSO Smartcard contactless tickets

In principle it's a good idea... But

    ITSO Smartcard contactless tickets

But the challenge is if anyone uses through ticketing for example, they don't touch in at a SE station but get a revenue check on a GTR train or another TOC that requires a tap in and get accused of fare evasion. Now you see the problem, not all the TOCs have the same terms of use, not all of...

    Liverpool to Euston 9th July

You can't bid without a card registered, and as has been said they charge you as soon as the countdown clock finishes and you get a QR code in the App and via email that'll keep Avanti happy IF they actually come round and do a revenue check

    ITSO Smartcard contactless tickets

T'was thinking the same thing because my local SE station has no such ITSO pads and it's SE that are trying to get me to use it

    ITSO Smartcard contactless tickets

It did seems to suggest by tapping the card on you phone it'd show all tickets stored and details again via the app

    ITSO Smartcard contactless tickets

Good Evening, Up until now I've avoided the TOCs smartcards due to challenges and difficulties that were being reported on twitter, here and general rumblings of commuters on trains. Today I got what I expecting to be a spam email from SouthEastern, it wasn't, it was very informative and talking...

Buying house backing onto train tracks...

The Google satellite view says everything, it isn't just a set of 2 lines running past it has a sets of points at one end of the site which will create various squealing noises when different services change tracks just before they cross the bridge, and then as you get to Lancaster Station at...

Battery EMUs - what tech is used/could be used?

It seems the best chance we will see truly battery powered trains is when Solid State batteries become available, half the size, lighter batteries, double the life and more sustainable. Here is an article from Car Magazine

Long term implications of suspending ticket checks

Thank you, I wasn't sure where the truth lay

Long term implications of suspending ticket checks

I must ask have you been told what tasks you should be doing now by your TOC and what advice have any union has given to counteract their expectations.

Long term implications of suspending ticket checks

It's a hard line for on board staff to balance on between the Gov advice, the unions recommendations, the TOCs expectations. As a passenger I would prefer to see the Guard, Conductor, OBM or Revenue staff walking the train I feel safer and happier when I do. It's not a free service and people...

Class 701 'Aventra' trains for South Western Railway

Now seeing this are these seats the same as the seats on the 387s in 2 + 2 seating config or are we talking Class 700 ironing boards?

    Liverpool to Euston 9th July

Book a standard ticket and then on the day 3 or 4 hours before you're scheduled to travel click onto the SeatFrog app, and look for a cheap upgrade to 1st in an auction probably £15+

    Most responsive/useful TOC twitter account?

Equally I've found that advanced cancellations, shortages of carriages and reasons for delays are very much forthcoming with SE, where as other Twitter accounts barely tweet once a day barring replying to irrate customers asking where their train is
